Homestead Life
Like many people, our homestead started with my son hatching chickens in elementary school and me begging to adopt some of them. I was unsuccessful convincing my husband, to adopt the first time, but luckily for me (my husband not so much) the school decided to hatch some more a few years later and I was able to get 6 chicks! We had them for several years before we decided to add on, and we are now up to 22 laying chickens. And boy are they fun to watch!!
My son is now in high school (I still can’t believe it) and with all the supply chain issues during Covid I began to heavily look into ways that we can become more self-sustaining. That started with getting some meat chickens and growing a little more in our garden. Adding animals to the homestead has been a major sticking point with my husband, so it takes many years of convincing, and bless his heart, he usually gets roped into being the engineer behind my ideas. We currently have a small orchard, herb garden, summer produce garden, and much to my excitement, DAIRY GOATS have FINALLY hit the homestead! I have been begging for dairy goats for several years so that we can have fresh milk at our disposal for my family to use. Once I got the hubby on board with the idea, I also felt that I couldn't keep all this cuteness to myself so I started looking into ways to share them with others. Thank you Pinterest!! I am pleased to announce that we are currently offering baby goats that are available for Goat Yoga, Birthday Parties, Special Events, and Photography Sessions.
